Pouch Filling after a Stop: Define the Restart Check

Treat restart as its own event

A packaging line may run steadily and then stop for a planned interruption. The first packs after restart deserve an agreed check. For a Kaida roll-film project, include that event in the buyer’s trial plan so the team knows how material held in the machine is handled and when output returns to the accepted operating condition.

Describe the intended interruption

Choose a stop scenario relevant to the filler, such as a routine product replenishment or planned pause. Record its duration, the material position and the machine’s approved restart procedure. The operator responsible for the equipment should control safe operation. Packaging observers need the resulting conditions and sample identities, without inventing their own operating instructions for the machine.

Separate the first output

Identify and retain the initial packs after the stop before mixing them into ordinary trial output. Check the characteristics chosen by the buyer, such as seal appearance, cut position, print registration or product presence in the seal. Label subsequent sample groups so the team can see how the restart sequence develops rather than inspecting one selected good unit.

Agree disposition and evidence

Ask production and quality teams to define how restart output is held, checked and released. If a defect appears, record the condition and the operator’s adjustment. Repeat the selected scenario if the proposed correction needs confirmation. Keep the result separate from evidence obtained during uninterrupted stable running.

Include restart in the handoff

Send Kaida the material version, stop description and sample observations when discussing the trial. Put the agreed inspection and disposition into the production release record. A routine interruption then has a defined packaging check instead of relying on an undocumented judgment at each shift.

Discuss the next step with Kaida using the official roll page.
