Packaging Project Dates: Build the Timeline from Required Inputs
A desired launch date does not explain when packaging can be approved and ordered.
Start with what must be ready
A desired launch date does not explain when packaging can be approved and ordered. For a Kaida project, build a timeline around the inputs each decision requires. Artwork, product samples, equipment information and test results may come from different owners, and an unfinished input can affect several later activities.
Draw the dependency sequence
List the project’s actual steps, such as defining the brief, selecting a construction, reviewing artwork, running a trial and approving production. Ask each owner which inputs they need before beginning and what evidence marks completion. Some work may proceed together; other work may depend on a prior decision. Have the teams confirm those relationships instead of turning every activity into an arbitrary fixed duration.
Use confirmed dates and visible assumptions
Request current timing from the parties performing the work and distinguish confirmed dates from planning estimates. Record the source and date of each estimate. If a sample or artwork revision arrives late, review the affected downstream steps with their owners. Do not recover a missed date by silently removing a necessary review or treating an incomplete test as an approval.
Manage the next decision
At each project review, identify the next unresolved input, its owner and the decision it enables. Share the updated sequence with Kaida and the filler so everyone sees the same dependencies. Record whether the launch date remains achievable under the agreed plan. This produces a useful working schedule without claiming a universal packaging lead time or promising a delivery date that the responsible supplier has not confirmed.
