First Packaging Lot in Market: Set the Follow-up Questions

Plan the review before launch

A successful first production lot creates an opportunity to learn from actual use. For a new Kaida packaging project, agree a limited follow-up review with the buyer, filler and customer-facing team. Choose questions linked to the changes made in the pack, rather than collecting every comment without a way to decide whether it concerns packaging.

Define observations and denominators

Select the issues that matter to the launch, such as damaged arrivals, opening complaints, code readability or line interruptions. Record the quantity shipped or handled alongside the observations. A small number of reports without a denominator can be difficult to interpret, and complaints from different product lots should remain identifiable throughout the review.

Give reports a common structure

Ask teams to collect product and packaging lot, date, use step and photographs where available. Distinguish a repeated physical defect from a preference about appearance. Preserve examples and the approved reference so the technical team can compare them. Customer-facing staff should pass observations accurately without promising a cause before the evidence is reviewed.

Hold a focused decision meeting

Compare the collected evidence with the original trial questions. Identify what has been confirmed, which issue requires investigation and whether a proposed change belongs in the next order. Name an owner for each action. Keep a successful characteristic unchanged unless there is a clear reason to include it in the revision.

Feed learning into the repeat order

Send Kaida the relevant evidence and agreed packaging changes, with their scope and approval path. Close resolved actions and retain any open investigation separately. The second order can then benefit from market experience while preserving a clear record of what the first lot actually demonstrated.
