Packaging Complaint Triage: Start with the Lot and the Use Step
A complaint such as 'the pouch leaked' can describe several different failures.
A complaint such as 'the pouch leaked' can describe several different failures. Kaida's support page describes order and after-sales response. Buyers can speed the technical conversation by collecting the lot, product, use step and physical evidence before asking for a cause. The goal is a precise first investigation, not a quick assumption about the supplier or filler.
Define the inputs
Create an intake record with product name, packaging specification, production lot, fill date, distribution route and the point where the problem was seen. Ask for unopened and affected samples when available. Photograph both sides, seams and the outer case. Record whether the pack failed at filling, in storage, in transit or during consumer opening.
Test the proposed pack
Compare the affected sample with an approved reference and samples from the same lot. Inspect location and pattern: a repeated seal-edge issue suggests a different question from a puncture in one case position. Ask the filler for machine settings and line notes around the lot, and ask the supplier for its conversion and inspection record. Keep those sources separate until the evidence supports a conclusion.
Resolve the design question
Agree on a containment decision for stock while the review is open. Record who owns sampling, testing and communication, with a date for the next update. If an experiment is needed, state the hypothesis and the method. Avoid changing several process settings or materials before the team can tell which one affected the result.
Release the decision
Close the case with the observed cause where established, the action taken and the evidence that the action worked. If the cause remains uncertain, document the limits and the follow-up check. That record becomes useful for a later order instead of disappearing into a single email thread.
Use a shared incident number across buyer, filler and supplier records. It keeps test samples and messages attached to one case during a long investigation.
