Printed Packaging Color: Agree the Viewing Setup for Approval
Color decisions become slow when the brand, printer and buyer inspect a pouch under different conditions.
Create a shared viewing condition
Color decisions become slow when the brand, printer and buyer inspect a pouch under different conditions. For printed snack packaging from Kaida’s range, agree how the physical reference will be viewed before choosing among proofs. A phone photograph can explain a location or defect, but screen settings and lighting make it an incomplete physical color reference.
Identify the comparison standard
Name the approved artwork and any physical color reference supplied by the brand. Record whether the sample is flat film, laminated material or a converted pouch. Ask the print team which form is appropriate for final approval. Keep the finish, backing and intended viewing side with the reference so a comparison does not silently change construction as well as color.
Choose who decides
Assign an approval owner and collect input from the brand and printer through that person. Set the lighting and viewing arrangement to be used, with a documented process for instrumental measurements if the teams require them. Avoid having several reviewers issue contradictory corrections from separate photographs. Each requested change should identify the panel, color and reference being compared.
Compare the finished appearance
Inspect the converted sample and, where useful, the filled retail pack under the agreed setup. Note whether a concern is color, gloss, opacity or graphic placement; those observations may call for different adjustments. Retain both the approved reference and an example explaining an unacceptable difference. Repeat the relevant review if the laminate or surface finish changes.
Release the physical reference
Send Kaida a clear approval record tied to the sample and art versions. Keep the reference protected and identifiable for later production comparisons. The next print run can then be evaluated against a shared viewing decision rather than a collection of screenshots with conflicting appearances.
