Consider the label and pouch together

An added label can carry a promotion, translation or operational code on a flexible pack. The useful question is how the applied label behaves on the actual pouch surface as it bends, is handled and reaches the consumer.

Define the application

Specify the label purpose, location, information and the pouch finish beneath it. Record whether the label is applied to an empty or filled pack and how the application is performed. Mark any seals, folds, opening features and mandatory information that must stay clear. A label proof should be reviewed against the current filled pouch, not a generic rectangle on screen.

Trial actual handling

Apply production-like labels using the proposed method, then follow the buyer’s intended storage and handling sequence. Observe lifting edges, wrinkles, scuffs and readability. Check the label when the pouch is flexed or partly emptied if that is relevant to use. Record pouch construction, label version and application conditions so a favorable result identifies a reproducible combination.

Investigate without hiding information

If the label moves or interferes with use, compare placement, geometry or the supplied label construction through a controlled retest. Ask the responsible teams to review any proposed change in adhesive or surface. Ensure a corrective label does not conceal product instructions or create a conflicting version of required text.

Release a labelled reference

Keep a physical labelled pack with the application drawing and approved copy. Send Kaida the required interface and test observations when discussing sourcing.
