A stand-up pouch that looks balanced in a drawing can lean when filled with a real product. Kaida lists stand-up pouches among its formats. The buyer's decision is whether the base shape, fill level and center of mass work together on the intended shelf and in the outer case. An empty sample cannot settle that question.

## Define the inputs

Give the supplier the product's normal fill and the target shelf footprint. Note whether the contents settle, flow or form pieces that push against one side. Ask for a dimensional drawing of the base and gusset, including seal margins. Then agree how shelf stability will be observed, such as placement on a level surface and after routine case handling.

## Test the proposed pack

Test filled samples across the expected fill range and inspect how the base opens. Put them into the planned carton, move the carton through a realistic handling sequence and return the pouches to a shelf. Record leaning, base folds and packs that will not stand without adjustment. Photograph each sample from the same angle so alternative constructions can be compared fairly.

## Resolve the design question

Review front-panel appearance at the same time. A base change may improve standing but alter the graphic seen from the aisle or the width available for text. Keep the product, artwork and construction version together in the trial log. If a larger SKU is planned, test it separately rather than assuming the smaller pouch's proportions still work.

## Release the decision

Approve the filled reference, base drawing and carton configuration as a set. Define a simple incoming check for the base when the next lot arrives. This gives purchasing an objective way to discuss a pouch that meets flat dimensions but performs differently on the shelf.
