## Draw what the operator sees

A roll label that says inside or outside can mean different things to a designer and a machine operator. For a Kaida roll-film inquiry, use a drawing of the actual web path. Show the operator position, roll rotation and the printed face as it enters the machine. This small communication step can prevent a correctly printed roll from arriving in an inconvenient orientation.

## Identify all four references

Put the artwork top, machine direction, sealing face and core orientation on one diagram. Include a photograph of the existing roll mounted on the filler if available. State where the registration mark sits relative to the operator and how the finished pack is cut. Ask both printer and filler to acknowledge the same image rather than exchanging separate descriptions that look similar in email.

## Use a short physical reference

A labelled strip or small trial roll lets the operator check the diagram against the machine. Run enough material to see the first completed packs and confirm text direction, seal-face contact and registration. Retain the strip with an arrow showing the direction it travelled. The reference should have an artwork and material version, so it remains meaningful after a design change.

## Control alternate machines

If the order may run on two fillers, check whether they accept the same winding configuration. Give different configurations separate order suffixes and roll labels. Do not rely on an operator to rewind or reinterpret an entire shipment at receiving. If a production transfer changes the web path, repeat the orientation review before releasing the next printed order.

## Make orientation an order field

Include the approved diagram in the purchase specification and first-roll check. Ask Kaida to reference its version on the order confirmation. A repeat buyer can then compare a new delivery against a concrete machine view, instead of discovering an orientation disagreement after the line has been stopped.
