## Keep the first observation intact

A leaking pouch is easier to discuss when the team knows where liquid was first seen and how the pack was positioned. For a Kaida pouch investigation, begin with an observation map. The wettest area after transport or handling may not identify the original leak location, so avoid treating the first photograph as a confirmed cause.

## Use a shared orientation

Mark front, back, top and bottom relative to the artwork and show the position of seals, folds and any fitment. Assign the sample an identifier linked to the product and packaging lots. Photograph it before opening, wiping or carrying out a destructive test where practical. Record the state in which it was received, including whether it had been squeezed, dropped, opened or transferred to another container.

## Separate observations from findings

Write the first visible wet area, test location and subsequent technical finding in distinct fields. Ask the responsible quality team to choose the investigation method and handling precautions for the actual product. Retain comparison samples from the same lot when available. A suspected seam problem should remain a hypothesis until the examination supports it; the investigation may need to consider film, fitment, closure and handling evidence together.

## Send a useful evidence packet

Provide Kaida with the map, original photographs, lot references and a chronological account of the checks performed. Identify samples available for examination and any evidence lost through earlier handling. Record the technical conclusion separately from the initial complaint description. That preserves the reasoning behind a corrective action and prevents the next team from repeating an unconfirmed explanation as an established packaging failure.
