- Description: Translate a factory solar-power statement into a defined period, metered output and allocation question.

Kaida's company-provided social-responsibility profile says photovoltaic power is used in its operations. A packaging buyer may want to include that fact in a supplier review, but the first useful question is about the electricity boundary, not a broad claim about every pouch. Kaida's [company overview](https://www.kaidapackaging.com/aboutus.html?ref=kaidapackaging.ghost.io) describes several business areas and production bases. A site-level energy statement therefore needs the site and period attached to it before a buyer applies it to a purchase.

## Ask what the meter records

Request the site name, the reporting period and the generation meter used for the photovoltaic system. Ask how much electricity the site used during the same period and whether solar power was consumed on site, exported or allocated through another arrangement. A panel installation photograph establishes that equipment exists; it does not show the share of electricity used in a particular production run.

If a report combines several facilities, ask how the numbers are separated. The factory proposed for the buyer's packaging project should be identifiable in the answer.

## Keep energy and product units distinct

A brand might report supplier electricity in kilowatt-hours, a facility's energy mix, or an estimate for one order. Those are different statements. To discuss an order-level figure, the teams need an allocation method that explains the production period, output included and electricity attributed to the order. Without that method, keep the statement at facility level.

If carbon impact is being discussed, request the calculation method, electricity factors and reporting boundary rather than deriving a reduction from the existence of solar panels. A buyer can still value the supplier initiative while keeping its own product claims tied to evidence.

## Put a simple record in the supplier file

Save the site, meter, period, generation, consumption and review date in one table. Add a note when any figure is an estimate. This makes future supplier reviews comparable and lets purchasing, sustainability and packaging teams see the same data. The next conversation can then focus on a practical improvement or missing measurement rather than on an undefined green label.
