Kaida Group shows a [flat bag for medicated patches](https://www.kaidapackaging.com/Custom-Design-Aluminum-Foil-Medicated-Patch-Packaging-Matte-Flat-Bag-pd579457148.html?ref=kaidapackaging.ghost.io). In this application, a useful design discussion begins with the complete unit that goes into the bag: patch, liner, inserts and any protective sheet. The printed pouch dimensions are the result of those inputs.

## Measure the complete unit

Provide the maximum length, width and thickness of the packed item, including any liner that extends beyond the patch. Say whether the bag holds one item or several. If an instruction leaflet is inserted, include its folded dimensions and where it sits beside the product.

Decide how much free space is needed for filling and opening. Review a physical mock-up with the real unit inside; a flat drawing alone does not show whether the item moves into a seal or blocks the intended tear path.

## Design the opening sequence

Describe how the user should hold and open the pack and where the patch should be presented after opening. Mark the proposed tear location on a sample. Check whether the opened edge could catch the liner or make the item difficult to remove.

Tell the packaging team how the bags will be filled and sealed, and whether they will be placed in an outer carton. The unit pack, line and secondary pack should be reviewed together.

## Keep space for controlled information

List the exact text and symbols required by the product owner and each destination market. This may include product identification, instructions, batch and date fields, barcode and other regulated information determined by your own regulatory team. Reserve the variable-print area before finalizing a decorative finish.

Prepare an actual-size artwork proof. Review text size, contrast, the seal zone and the position of any tear feature on the finished bag rather than on a screen alone.

## What to provide for review

Send a full unit sample, target count per bag, filling process, proposed opening, secondary-pack details and approved text. Ask for a mock-up and a documented line and artwork review with [Kaida Group](https://www.kaidapackaging.com/contactus.html?ref=kaidapackaging.ghost.io).
