A date code that is readable at the filling line may become difficult to find after a frozen bag is packed into a case and handled in a cold environment. Kaida lists frozen food packaging among its applications. The buyer should treat code placement, print method and actual handling as one packaging decision.

## Define the inputs

Mark the planned code zone on the final dieline and on a filled sample. Record the expected case orientation and the surfaces that rub or fold. Give the coder team the proposed substrate and print finish. If several product variants share a line, also define how the correct preprinted film is checked before the variable code is applied.

## Test the proposed pack

Trial the code on production-like bags. Inspect the first, middle and last samples from the run under the light available to the receiving or retail team. Then inspect after the planned cold-storage and handling route. Photograph any scuffed, folded or obscured code with the sample ID and position in the case.

## Resolve the design question

Agree what the code must let the next handler do: find a lot, identify a best-before date or reconcile a case label. If that task fails, move the code or change the process, then retest. Do not cover weak readability with a larger label that introduces a new surface or attachment question without reviewing the complete pack.

## Release the decision

Release a code-location drawing and a verified filled example alongside the packaging specification. Include the line setup and a simple check frequency. It makes a later artwork revision less likely to crowd the code area and gives quality teams a practical basis for investigating a traceability complaint.

Place the reference code on the inspection sheet, not on a loose photograph alone. Quality staff can then repeat the exact readability check on future lots.
